Live in London

April 6, 2012 - 13:24 - April 9, 2012 - 23:24

April sees Barnsley once again alive to music from around the globe, as the third Acoustic Roots Festival takes place.

The announcement of the main acts once again confirms the festival’s vision to bring a broad range of acoustic music to the town from the UK, USA and Canada – whether this be traditional folk, country or something just a little different! Acts confirmed are:

Friday April 6th From 7.30
Acoustic Gathering, Tarras and Fran Smith

Saturday April 7th From 1.30
Brass Monkey, The Shee, Stacey Earle & Mark Stewart, and Philip Henry & Hannah Martin

Sunday April 8th from 1.30
Edward II, Po Girl, Toy Hearts, Patsy Matheson & Becky Mills and the winners of the Rising Star Award.

Final details of the line up to be announced in January.

There will also be Open Mic sessions on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The sessions will be a mixture of pre-booked spots and spots for people turning up on the day. There will also be performances from some of stars of the festival.

Once again we will provide an opportunity for young performers to appear on the main stage on the final day of the festival through the BARF Rising Star Award.

The opportunity is open to anyone aged 21 or under on 1 April 2011, who can either play an instrument and / or sing live. The programme is open to solo or duos, performing acoustically either their own songs / tunes or covers. Performers are asked to send in demos or links to their website before the end of February.
